We’re looking for an actress to play Neena, the lead in our upcoming 1970s-set drama / romantic comedy, inspired by the timeless charm of films like Sabrina (1954). This is an independent Danish feature film.

We are looking for candidates in Denmark/ Norway/ Sweden or England

Logline: After stepping away from an impending arranged marriage, a young Indian woman arrives in 1970s Denmark and teams up with a reserved mechanic to transform a decaying houseboat into a floating restaurant. As they face opposition from a manipulative rival and the decline of the local shipyard, their future—and the future of the town—hangs in the balance.

About the Role:
Neena is bright, optimistic, and brings a breath of fresh air into a small, tradition-bound Danish town. Her drive for progress clashes with the town’s slower pace and old-fashioned ways, adding both charm and humor to her journey as she navigates new relationships and unexpected challenges.

What We’re Looking For:
Playing-age 22 , with Indian heritage
Comfortable with English and, ideally a british or transatlantic accent
Able to embody a character with depth, charm, and an infectious personality

About the Director: Hi, I’m Daniel French, and after 20 years in film, mostly as a VFX Supervisor on Danish films and some big Indian productions like Bahubali 2 and RRR, I’m stepping into the roles of director and producer for this project. It’s a passion project for me, and for the rest involved. We aim to create classic cinema in its purest form.
